Park Your Luxury Car Safely or Else….
Arturas Zuokas the Mayor of Vilnius which is the capital city of Lithuania was so sick and tired of luxury cars parking illegally along the main street that he took extreme measures to combat the problem.
In the past few days, expensive cars such as a Rolls-Royce and Ferrari have illegally parked in almost the exact same spot so he rolled along in a massive tank and crushed a Mercedes Benz (that was bought for this publicity stunt) while grinning ear to ear.
The Mayor was awarded the 2011 Ig Nobel Peace Prize for this effort. The Ig Nobel awards are spoof awards, mostly given for serious scientific research which sounds so unlikely that it makes you laugh. The Vilnius parking campaign was actually a TV advertisement to discourage illegal parking.
